The CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care prepares you to support children’s learning, development, health, safety and wellbeing in regulated education and care environments.
You will develop practical skills in building positive relationships with children, planning play-based experiences, supporting inclusion and diversity, applying approved learning frameworks and meeting legal and ethical responsibilities.
The course combines face-to-face learning, scheduled supervised online learning, practical activities and a minimum of 160 hours of supervised vocational placement in a regulated early childhood education and care service in Australia.

This course is available to international students intending to study in Australia on a Student visa. Enrolment and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) issuance are subject to South Sydney College's admission requirements and applicable ESOS requirements.

South Sydney College reviews each prospective student’s relevant skills and competencies before enrolment, including language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy, to confirm course suitability and identify any support needs.

The qualification consists of 17 units of competency: 15 core units and 2 elective units. All units are delivered across four study terms. The delivery schedule supports the progressive development of the knowledge and practical skills required for vocational placement and work in early childhood education and care.

Study Load:
Work Placement:Minimum 160 hours in a regulated early childhood education and care service in Australia.
Students must complete the mandatory National Child Safety Training before commencing any work placement hours.
Face-to-Face Classes: Delivered at the Burwood campus
Online learning: Scheduled supervised online learning delivered via the LMS
Trainer support: Ongoing guidance, feedback and coaching from qualified trainers
Assessments: Written assessments, case studies, projects, simulations and observed practical tasks
Training: Supervised vocational placement, workplace observations and placement evidence
Students with previous study or relevant work experience may be eligible to have their existing skills recognised or receive credit for equivalent units, which may reduce the training or units required.
Applications for RPL or Credit Transfer are assessed individually against the applicable evidence and competency requirements.
For overseas students, any resulting change to course duration will be managed in accordance with applicable CRICOS and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) requirements.
