FAQs Before/During Enrolment:

  • Vocational education and training (VET) is that part of tertiary education and training which provides accredited training in job related and technical skills.
  • It covers many careers and industries like trades and office work, retail, hospitality and technology.
  • Qualifications range from certificate II to certificate IV, and diploma and advanced diploma.
  • Individuals can be trained in part qualifications or ‘skills sets’

VET aims to provide people with the skills and knowledge they require to:

  • Enter the workforce for the first time
  • Re-enter the workforce after absences
  • Train or re-train for a new job
  • Upgrade their skills
  • Move into further study in VET or university

  • Year 10 or equivalent qualification or vocational qualification at least Certificate III level or experience in business environment.
  • Have an IELTS score of 5.5 with no less than 5.0 in each band or equivalent*. Other accepted requirements as below:
    • TOEFL ibt 46 or Cambridge English advance 162 or General English Upper intermediate or PTE 42 or EAP from approved ELICOS/ESL centre or completed at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in any discipline delivered and assessed in English; or Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or Successful completion of an English Placement Test or other equivalent English test.

SSC’s grading system is competency based rather than credit points/marks. Competency-based training is a method of training that focuses on a learner’s ability to receive, respond to and process information to achieve competency. It is geared towards the attainment and demonstration of skills to meet industry-defined standards, rather than to a learner’s achievement relative to that of others.

The OSHC is legal requirement of your study visa, and can be applied for and organised by the student, or by us. Whatever you choose to do, we recommend Allianz to our students because of their reliability and competitive pricing.

In Australia, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a mandatory requirement of your student visa. You must have OSHC for the entire time you are studying here. OSHC also gives you peace of mind knowing your health will be looked after you can easily access medical services while you are in Australia – so you can focus on your studies and enjoying your time here. Offer letters and Certificates of enrollment are issued in 1-3 working days (Monday to Friday)

GTE document requirements may vary from one country to another country. Depends on Immigration Risk rating of the country. However, following are the minimum documents you need to provide us: Certified copy of academics, English proficiency certificate, passport, Signed offer letter, OSHC, statement of purpose (SOP).

We offer an airport transfer service for an additional $150. Please contact us at: [email protected] if you wish to book this service.

In the unfortunate event of visa application rejection, we do refund as per our refund policy. There is a non-refundable enrolment fee of $250.00 and a refund processing administration fee will be deducted from the refunded amount. Our refund policy is available on our website or by contacting our admission office. ​

There are 4 terms and one summer Term (Summer School) each year. Summer term is for new enrolments only. Student are required to attend 4 terms per year. Throughout the year there are 36 weeks of class and 16 weeks of term breaks. ​

As an international student, you are required to attend 20 hours per week of lectures on campus, however, additional study is required outside the classroom to complete each unit (subject). These hours may vary depending on the course. ​

Yes, after completing a lower level course at SSC, you can apply for a higher level course. For example: After completing the BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business, you can apply for the BSB50215 Diploma of Business. ​

FAQs After Enrolment:

The fees are set out in the letter of offer are payable on acceptance of offer. A minimum 25% tuition fee payment is required to issue the CoE. Students can choose to pay more than the 25% as specified in the application form. Payment for each term is due two weeks before term starts. ​

You will be entitled to pay late fees charges. ($200- 7 days, $400-14 days)

Students cannot work until they have commenced studies in Australia. Once the course has started, students are permitted to work a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight during the term, and unlimited hours during term break.

Students are required to complete at least 6 months of their course to be eligible to transfer to another provider. If you have a compelling or compassionate circumstances and you need to change provider, you must contact the college administration. A decision will be made case by case.

SSC does not offer Bachelor degree courses. However, SSC has an articulation agreement with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ CRICOS provider code: 00244B) and Kent Institute (CRICOS CODE – 00161E). After completing courses at SSC, students will be eligible to apply for credit exemptions at USQ or Kent Institute. The amount of credits may vary depending on the course completed at SSC and the chosen course at USQ/Kent. More information is available under our pathway tab. ​

Students may be eligible for credit exemptions at other colleges/universities in Australia. At the time of application to another provider, you can provide your SSC Certificate/Transcript and ask for credit exemptions.
