ELICOS- English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students

The ELICOS – English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students is designed to help international students improve their English proficiency and achieve their goals in academic and professional settings. Whether you’re preparing for further studies, career opportunities, or simply seeking to integrate into an English-speaking environment, this course provides the foundation for your success.

Our General English program comprises six levels.

1. Beginner Level: Dive into the exciting world of English with our Beginner Level course! From greetings to everyday conversations, you’ll master essential vocabulary and basic grammar structures to confidently navigate simple interactions in English.
2. Elementary Level: Take your English skills to the next level! In our Elementary Level course, you’ll expand your vocabulary and delve deeper into grammar, equipping you with the tools to express yourself more fluently. Get ready to engage in lively discussions and express your thoughts with confidence.
3. Pre-Intermediate Level: Ready to explore new horizons? Our Pre-Intermediate Level course is designed to build upon your foundation, introducing you to a wider range of topics and language structures. 4. Intermediate Level: Elevate your English to new heights! The ELICOS program opens doors to numerous opportunities in academic and professional environments. After completing this course, students can:

• Pursue further vocational studies within our College or progress to a university.
• Enhance their employability for roles requiring strong English communication skills.
• Prepare for international English proficiency tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.
• ntegrate seamlessly into English-speaking workplaces or communities.

Admission Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Must hold a current Student Visa (at the time of course commencement)
• Must demonstrate satisfactory completion of studies in the applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification.*

Exemptions:

You do not need to provide evidence of an English test score with your visa application if one of the following applies:

• You are a citizen and hold a passport from the UK, USA, Canada, NZ, or the Republic of Ireland
• You are an applicant who is a Foreign Affairs or, Defence sponsored student or a Secondary Exchange student (AASES)
• You are enrolled in a principal course of study that is a registered school course, a standalone English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS), a course registered to be delivered in a language other than English, or a registered post-graduate research course
• You have completed at least 5 years’ study in English in one or more of the following countries: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the Republic of Ireland
• In the 2 years before applying for the student visa, you completed, in Australia and in the English language, either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, while you held a student visa.
